By Eric SanInocencio, Director of Public Relations5/8/2009
Birmingham, Ala. – On the strength of meeting with athletic directors across the state at the AHSAA annual gala, Eporro.com has landed four new schools in various new markets across Alabama.
President Jim Cavale announced new partnerships with Hartselle, Opelika, Phenix City and Daphne High Schools this week. These signings expand Eporro.com’s presence in markets outside the Birmingham area. They all provide wonderful opportunities for student-athletes and academic clubs to compete for scholarships at the collegiate level.
"It is exciting to implement our technology onto high school campuses in new areas of Alabama,” said Cavale. “Daphne, Hartselle, Opelika, and Phenix City are all major players in their respective AHSAA Districts and we are excited about helping their students gain collegiate opportunities."
Hartselle High School, located in northern Alabama, services 912 students and has a well-known athletic program. The Hartselle football program advanced to the state playoffs this season, while its baseball teams have produced numerous collegiate athletes at universities all over the state.
Opelika High School is in eastern Alabama, just miles away from the Auburn University campus. Opelika has a well-known athletic department, boasting several NFL players as alumni of the powerful school. Stars such as TJ Jackson and Will Herring were apart of the “Dawg Network”, and Opelika’s teams routinely reach the state playoffs in various sports.
The Phenix City Public Schools system services 5500 students, with four elementary schools and one high school. Central-Phenix City High School was the 2008 6A Women’s Golf Champions, and its athletes are very involved within the community. The football program routinely does charity work, and has been featured in newspapers for all their hard work off the field.
Daphne High School gives Eporro.com its first client in the Mobile area, a fertile ground for athletic talent. Among all those programs, Daphne stands out, with its tremendous athletic record over the years. Daphne, a 6A school, has over 1300 students enrolled. Between boys and girls teams, there are 18 sports played at the school. Alumni of this program include former West Virginia quarterback Pat White, and Florida Marlins draftee Adam Wood.
