Team Alabama wins the Smoltz-Grissom Wood Bat Classic, July 4th weekend, 2010. Championship game played on Turner Field. Batted .643 for the tournament.

"Clayton Palicki threw a no-hitter, allowing one walk with nine strikeouts in six innings for Madison Academy (2-1). Stafford Booth batted 4-for-4 with a three-run triple. Palicki batted 3-for-3 and two RBIs. Justin Camp was the losing pitcher for Austin (1-1)."

At Madison Academy, Drew Mobley went the distance to get the win, allowing seven hits and striking out three. Stafford Booth led the Mustangs with three hits and three RBIs. Clayton Palicki added two doubles and two RBIs and Jared Brinson finished with two hits.
Athens was led by Joseph Chamber with two hits.
In the second game, Booth had two hits, including a home run, and two RBIs to lead Madison Academy (26-8). Ian Rice added three hits and three RBIs. Clayton Palicki picked up the win.

Newcomer adds bat
Palicki, a junior who sat out last season after transferring, is batting a team second-best .474. He also has four home runs, 10 doubles, 37 runs scored and two triples and a team-high 34 RBIs.

Clayton Palicki went 6-for-7 with a home run, double and six RBIs in two games as Madison Academy swept Colbert Heights 23-1, 18-0 Friday. The Mustangs pounded 19 hits in the first five-inning game and 16 in the second. "I think I had a pretty good night, just trying to help the team out," the junior first baseman said. "I mean both our pitchers were really clutch on the mound. They came out throwing really good and we just brought the bats today."
